PrecisionTracker ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the
PrecisionTracker mobile application ("the App").
The App is designed with a privacy-first architecture. All fitness and location
data generated by your use of the App resides locally on your device. We do not
maintain external servers to store your personal fitness sessions.
Background Location Usage Notice:
PrecisionTracker collects location data to enable route recording even when the
app is closed or not in use. This allows the app to accurately track routes,
distance, and movement during active fitness sessions.
1. Information Collection and Use
To provide fitness tracking and mapping features, the App requires access to specific data:
- Location Data: We use GPS to track your route, speed, and altitude. This data is processed locally to trace your path on maps provided by OpenStreetMap and CartoDB.
- Fitness Data: The App accesses your device’s sensors to count steps and calculate session statistics.
- Media / Camera: If you choose to take pictures of your route, the App requires access to your camera and gallery. These images are stored locally on your device.
- Email Address: The App does not collect your email automatically. Your email is only used when you explicitly trigger the "Send Stats" function.
2. Data Storage and Transmission
- Local Storage: All session statistics, map traces, and photos are stored strictly on your mobile device. There is no background syncing to an external PrecisionTracker server.
- User-Initiated Export: You may download your stats and send them to your email. No data is transmitted unless you manually press the "Send Stats" button.
- Third-Party Map Providers: The App uses OpenStreetMap and CartoDB to render maps. These providers may receive technical data (such as IP address or coordinates) necessary to serve map tiles to your device. Please consult their privacy policies for more details.
3. Regulatory Compliance
This policy is designed to align with major privacy frameworks including:
- GDPR (European Union)

- Privacy Act (Australia)
- Data Sovereignty: Your data remains on your device, giving you full control.
- Data Minimization: We only request permissions necessary for the App’s functionality.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access and Portability: View your stats within the App or export them via email.
- Erasure: Delete your data anytime by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the app.
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke permissions (Location, Camera, Sensors) through your device settings.
5. Children’s Privacy
PrecisionTracker does not knowingly collect information from children under the
age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Because all data remains
local to the device, we do not have a mechanism to identify the age of users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted
within the App. Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
